Managed Accounting
AnchorPoint takes responsibility for the recurring accounting process. Transactions reviewed and categorized, key accounts reconciled, the balance sheet examined, financial statements prepared, and the close confirmed. Every month, in QuickBooks Online.
The recurring accounting process, managed under one relationship.
This is AnchorPoint's core service. It suits businesses that have outgrown disconnected bookkeeping tasks and need accurate books, a dependable month-end, and financial statements they do not have to second-guess. The differentiator is not the task list. It is a disciplined process and responsibility for producing a reliable monthly result.
If your books are in reasonable condition, service can start directly. If they need work first, that is handled as cleanup during onboarding.
Who this fits. Owner-led businesses that need reliable monthly accounting but are not ready to build and supervise a full internal accounting team. Typically businesses with payroll, several bank and credit card accounts, and enough complexity that an inconsistent month-end is starting to cost real time.
Owners handing off the books, businesses whose bookkeeper left, and clients coming out of a cleanup or a new QuickBooks implementation.
What every engagement includes, and what it does not.
Core is mandatory for every recurring client. Scope is set per engagement and written down before work starts.
Typically included
- Transaction accounting and categorization, classified consistently period over period
- Bank and credit card reconciliation to statements each month
- Routine liability reconciliations, tracked against outside records
- Payroll accounting and payroll liability review, where documentation is provided
- Recurring journal entries, clearing and suspense account review
- Chart-of-accounts maintenance and QuickBooks Online administration
- Month-end close performed on a defined schedule
- Balance sheet review, with material balances tied to support
- Monthly financial reporting and a written close confirmation
- Coordination with your CPA, including year-end readiness
Handled separately, or not at all
- Accounts payable and accounts receivable coordination, available as separate capabilities below

- New system setup, conversion, and workflow design, scoped as implementation

Tax work stays with your CPA. AnchorPoint's role is to hand your CPA books that tie out.
Beyond the close, on the same accountable relationship.
Core is mandatory. These capabilities extend it as a business needs them, added based on client needs and delivery capacity, not sold as an automatic bundle.
AP Coordination
Vendor setup and W-9 collection, bill intake and coding, approval routing, due-date monitoring, AP aging, and AP reconciliation, including 1099 administration. AnchorPoint may prepare or stage payments, but you retain final approval and payment release.
AR Support
Invoice preparation and distribution, payment application, AR reconciliation, aging review, and standard reminder activity. AnchorPoint is not a debt-collection company.
Payroll Coordination. Payroll is processed through your payroll provider. AnchorPoint can coordinate approved employee changes, review payroll inputs and registers, maintain accounting mappings, reconcile payroll and payroll liabilities, and investigate discrepancies. You retain employer responsibility and final payroll approval and funding.
How the close actually runs.
The same four stages every period, in the same order.
Review and categorize
Bank feed activity reviewed and coded against the established chart of accounts. Revenue recording confirmed. Classifications kept consistent so period-over-period comparisons mean something.
Reconcile key accounts
Bank and credit card accounts reconciled to statements. Loans, payroll liabilities, and sales tax tied to outside records where documentation is available. Items that cannot be resolved in the period are documented and carried forward on purpose.
Review the statements
Income statement reviewed for anomalies. Balance sheet reviewed account by account: receivables, payables, clearing accounts, customer deposits, owner activity. Anything unusual is investigated before the close is confirmed.
Deliver and confirm
Income statement and balance sheet delivered. Open items and recommendations noted in plain language. The close is confirmed in writing so you know exactly where the period stands.
Three ways businesses begin.
The starting point depends on the condition of the books, not on a fixed sequence. Nothing has to be purchased before Managed Accounting can start.
Start directly
The books are in reasonable condition. Service begins after onboarding and system access, with an Accounting Readiness Review of the environment as part of onboarding.
Cleanup first
The books are behind or unreliable. Cleanup and remediation establishes a dependable starting point, then Managed Accounting takes over.
Implementation first
A new QuickBooks Online file, or a move from QuickBooks Desktop. Implementation builds the foundation, then Managed Accounting runs it.
How pricing works. Managed Accounting is priced as a customized fixed monthly fee based on transaction volume, number of accounts, payroll, reporting requirements, and overall complexity. Scope and price are confirmed in writing before work begins.
Discuss Managed Accounting.
Tell us where the books stand now, and what else is on your plate. If service can start directly, it can start directly. If something needs to be resolved first, you will hear that plainly.
