About AnchorPoint Accounting Systems

About AnchorPoint

AnchorPoint Accounting Systems specializes in diagnosing and repairing accounting systems that have fallen behind operational reality.

As businesses grow, financial processes often become fragmented. Reconciliations fall behind, liabilities accumulate unexplained balances, and financial reports no longer reflect what is actually happening in the business.

AnchorPoint focuses on restoring financial system integrity — ensuring reconciliations, liabilities, and reporting structures remain accurate so business owners and advisors can rely on the numbers.

Rather than simply correcting transactions, the firm emphasizes repairing the underlying accounting processes and controls that allow financial reporting to remain stable over time.

AnchorPoint is based in Birmingham, Alabama and serves businesses nationwide.

About the Founder

AnchorPoint was founded by Stewart Gotlieb, an Intuit Certified Bookkeeper and QuickBooks ProAdvisor with more than 25 years of experience across accounting, financial systems, and financial operations roles.

Stewart’s background includes work in:

• Public accounting and tax preparation
• Controller of a $10M retail and wholesale business
• Senior Accountant for an international organization
• Financial services and product leadership roles in regulated environments

This combination of accounting foundation and financial systems experience informs AnchorPoint’s focus on reconciliation discipline, financial controls, and reliable reporting structures.

Through AnchorPoint, Stewart works with growing businesses and CPA firms to diagnose accounting breakdowns, repair reconciliation gaps, and restore financial reporting systems so leadership can trust the numbers again.

Why AnchorPoint Exists

Over the course of his career, Stewart repeatedly saw the same problem.

As businesses grow, the accounting system often falls behind operational reality.
Reconciliations slip, balance sheet accounts accumulate unexplained balances, and financial reports gradually become less reliable.

In many cases the issue is not simply incorrect transactions — it is that the financial processes and system structure have broken down over time.

AnchorPoint was created to address this specific problem:
Diagnosing where the accounting system has drifted and restoring the structure needed for reliable financial reporting.
